Birth Story: Friday night I felt sick, threw up a couple of times and had off and on stomach cramps that continued through until my water broke on Tuesday at 1Am. We headed to the hospital around 3:30Am and checked in at 4AM. My mom and Jon accompanied me to the hospital and we were lucky enough to catch Tori on shift so she became my labor and delivery nurse. At that point I was ready for an epidural, so they got the IV in me (after numerous tries they finally just had the anesthesiologist do it) so I could get some fluids and proceeded to give me an epidural. By that point, I was pretty frantic with pain and was just waiting (begging G0d) for the epidural to kick in...it NEVER did. I didn't feel any relief at all and when they called the anesthesiologist back in he apologized and said that in a few cases it doesn't work and asked if I would like to try again- of course I agreed (through gritted teeth). When I sat up for him to put in the injection I had an incredibly large contraction that felt like it was ripping me in half - I think I may have cried out in pain and my midwife decided to check me (which they hadn't done yet) and I was fully dilated and she was coming! Two pushes later she was born!! She was here and she really was a girl!!! I'm so glad that that was my last birthing experience and not my first because I don't know how easily it would be to convince me to do that ever again!
Happy Mommy and Baby- All done!

On a happier note, I have my sweet baby girl. She is beautiful and perfect. The boys absolutely adore her and jump up to wash their hands everytime she is awake and not eating. Clay tells me over and over again how cute she is and Ephraim and Kai keep kissing her. I thank God every day to have her in my life!
I hate baths!

Congratulations! She's finally here! She is so adorable, no wonder the boys can't get enough of her. I'm so happy that everything went well, minus the whole epidural part. Plus - 2 pushes! You're a rockstar!
Best wishes to you and your newly completed family!
Yipee! She's here and your done. You get your body back forever... congrats darlin!
Congrats, she is so cute! I 'm so sorry you had to experience the "ring of fire". That's what they told me it is called when you feel like your body is ripped in half, LOL! I'm so happy for you guys, and wish you the best!
Congrats! I am so happy for you that you got a girl! I had Corbin naturally too....not by choice! Enjoy the newborn stage cause it goes fast...now Corbin is 5months and Ginormous!
Oh Sarah, she's beautiful! Good job! Sorry about the pain but I'm sure she is worth it. I'm so happy for all of you!
Your labor story sounds similar to mine with Gavin. They were in the process of inserting the epidural needle when Gavin pushed his way out. I always tell people the only way to deliver naturally is if it happens in 2 minutes. :) Congrats on finally getting your sweet little girl!
What sweet pictures - congratulations! I love her hair!
You go girl! You are awesome. What a little beauty. What a great way to end a family...with a little girl. She's perfect.
Congratulations! She is beautiful . . . love all that dark hair. How fun to finally have a girl around the house!
Gabby is beautiful Sarah! Good job! Especially since you had to do it au natural! I can't believe how old Kai looks. Wasn't he just 9 months old yesterday??! I am excited to see Gabby in person!
I love the pictures! I am so happy for you!
congrats! she is adorable...you are a superstar to endure it without an epidural...i don't care what some people say...labor hurts! CONGRATS again...she is perfect!
Oh, welcome, Gabby!!! You are beautiful!!
I'm sorry to hear your epidural didn't work, Sarah. :( But like you said, that's a blessing it was your last and not your first. :) I'll bet being your fourth made it easier for her to come out faster, too.
Congratulations!!!
