Independence Day

We had a great (HOT) 4th of July celebration this year! We got up super early (I have no idea who planned this event but come one 8 am!!??) and went to our ward's kids parade and breakfast.

We enjoyed pancakes with whipped cream and blueberries and enjoyed listening to a couple of talks and the national anthem sung by our youth.

Later that day, our good friends the Martins came over for a BBQ and some kid fireworks. We at yummy food and just hung out for a low-key evening.

That night we got the kids in their jammies and headed to watch the fireworks over the Sound in Everett at Harborview park. The boys were kind of grumpy but the fireworks were great.

Even though my husband always teases me about being "anti-American"- I am so proud to be an American! I am grateful that Heavenly Father sent me to a family in America; I know this nation is truly blessed. I am grateful for my freedom and my ability to make a stand for what I believe is right. I am so grateful for the Founding Fathers who were divinely inspired to write the Constitution- our country is founded on truth and I'm so happy to be part of that! My heart swelled with pride today as we stood and sang out national anthem in Sacrament meeting- Happy Independence Day America!
